OUR STORY

San Antone Food Group began over 30 years ago in Australia, building on a rich family legacy. The original Antonio Pinzone immigrated from Filicudi, a small island off the coast of Sicily, in the late 1930s. He quickly became one of the key figures in the fishing industry in Melbourne, contributing to the growth and development of Australia’s seafood sector.


In the early 1980s, Garry and Marilyn Pinzone moved to Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast, where Garry played a pivotal role in building a thriving, internationally recognised fishing industry. This foundation laid the groundwork for what would eventually become San Antone Food Group — a name that honours Garry’s father, Antonio. In tribute to him, Garry named all of his fishing boats San Antone, blending "San" (Saint) with "Antone" (a nod to Antonio), creating a lasting symbol of respect and family pride.


While the business has evolved over the years, calling it San Antone Food Group is a heartfelt nod to the past — to the man who began it all — and a reflection of the values that have carried through generations: quality, hard work, and an enduring connection to the sea. Today, Tony and Anita Pinzone continue that legacy, leading the business with the same dedication to sustainability, innovation, and premium-quality products.


We’re excited to launch our range directly to retailers — expanding our reach while maintaining the same high standards of freshness and care. As we look to the future, we are also developing a new pipeline that showcases the best of Australian produce, broadening our offerings beyond seafood and embracing the diversity of Australia’s natural food resources.
